This autumn

A slower month, on purpose

October suits long books and short walks. The journal keeps its usual shape through it: a reading page begun in the morning, a city noted on the way home, and a paragraph tidied before the lamp goes off. Nothing added in a rush, and nothing dropped because the days got shorter.
